Powder coating is environmentally friendly!
Most liquid finishes require solvents comprised of dangerous chemicals known as volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Powder coating, by its very nature, uses no solvents and releases little if any VOCs into the atmosphere.
Up to 99 percent of oversprayed powder is reclaimed. The captured powder is typically returned to the feed system and reused, resulting in very little waste and this minimizing associated disposal concerns.
Practically all powder coating materials contain no VOCs and are not considered hazardous waste.
